THE SCREENS BEHIND
Take photos of fleeting, emotionally significant moments, and design the publication to hold them.
To photograph an indecisive moment is to not wait for that fraction of a second which is exactly right, after which the moment has passed. Instead, I aimed to photograph a process, something which cannot be caught in one golden moment. The creative process is a very good example of this. With a 35mm Pentax K1000 I shot in the screen printing and textiles facilities in Central Saint Martins.
The title and credits are letterpressed. While printing, I discovered the capital H was missing from the type. Instead of choosing a different typeface, I decided go with it, as the creative process which I'm trying to depict is often unpredictable and full of little mistakes and surprises itself.
